When I see magnolias, I am reminded of them being outside the kitchen window in the neighbors yard. It was the first time I had really taken notice to these trees. I would wash dishes and stare at that tree in amazement every day it was in bloom wishing it was on my side of the fence so I could get closer to it. During that spring time, the world felt upside down (I think you know which spring I’m referring to…cough… 2020… cough cough) and so much uncertainty came knocking on our door. With hope on our horizon, we persevere. We’ve moved since then, and I mark that time as special. Slightly haunting, but so special. I have plans to plant a magnolia tree of my very own on our new property and you bet her name is going to be Hope.
